Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Kaantha’ OTT Release Date Revealed on Netflix

The recent movie of the Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan, Kaantha, is going to be available on OTT platforms after the cinema release. The actress Bhagyashree Borse is playing the main female part, and Samuthirakani and Daggubati Rana are also acting in the film as important characters. The epic drama directed by Selvamani Selvaraj started on November 14 and gathered a moderate response from the audience.

The movie Kaantha which had a multi-language release, received mixed collections despite being able to make a connection with a certain group of viewers. Sources say that Netflix has acquired the rights for digital streaming and that the movie will be available on the platform starting December 12. The film will be released in all the major south Indian languages including Telugu on its launch day. The Hindi-dubbed version is expected to arrive around eight weeks after that, although there has been no formal announcement regarding this.

Set in the 1950s, Kaantha reveals the friction and disputes over creativity that sometimes arise between actors and directors. The plot features the confrontation of egos between the lead and the director which, to a certain extent, represents the difficulties that the film industry faces. The performance of Dulquer Salmaan was highly commended by the film critics while the actors Samuthirakani and Daggubati Rana also received praise for their performance.

The film got good reviews in Tamil Nadu but was unable to achieve the same level of success in the other regions. Those who were not able to catch the film in theatres will have the chance to stream Kaantha on Netflix very soon.
